The Senate hearings with key members of the coronavirus task force, including Dr. Anthony Fauci, are now over.
The one key takeaway from those hearings was the urgent warning Dr. Fauci issues to all states now going through the reopening process.
President Trump believes we can get this country reopened if we do so carefully.
While liberal-leaning media outlets are sensationalizing a response given by Dr. Fauci on this matter, he was more or less making the same statement our President has been doing for weeks… do it safely.
The key to reopening any and all states is to follow the guidelines that have been given by the federal government without skipping over any steps to reopen quicker.
Dr. Fauci stated, “My concern that if some areas — cities, states or what have you — jump over those various checkpoints and prematurely open up, without having the capability of being able to respond effectively and efficiently, my concern is we will start to see little spikes that might turn into outbreaks.”
The key point to focus on here is for states NOT to jump over checkpoints.
That, however, is not what the media concentrating on.
Instead, most outlets are pushing the second part of Dr. Fauci’s statement to fearmonger the American people.
Dr. Fauci stated, “There is a real risk that you will trigger an outbreak that you may not be able to control, which in fact, paradoxically, will set you back, not only leading to some suffering and death that could be avoided but could even set you back on the road to try to get economic recovery.”
Taken out of context from the first part of his statement, that sets the tone of a pretty dire situation.
All along, there was the expectation that coronavirus cases would increase when we started to reopen.
The measures that are now in place and the preparation time that was bought by the shutdown is to ensure that when those cases happen, we can isolate and shut down a possible outbreak very quickly.
In no way, shape, or form was Dr. Fauci suggesting we not open the country; he was only stressing the checklist in place and warning states not to jump steps.
His statement, contrary to what the mainstream media is pitching, supports what the President has been saying and urging governors across the country to do.
