Top GOP Member Accuses Top FBI Staff of Treason

Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY) wants justice handed down to the individuals behind the coup against President Trump.

Earlier today, Cheney stated the texts between FBI agent Strzok and FBI attorney Lisa Page were not only a coup but sounded more like treason.

The Coup

During the early stages of the Russia probe, both Peter Strzok and Lisa Page played very important roles.

However, while the investigation was going on, the two of them were exchanging text messages that made it very apparent these two were not exactly neutral in this investigation.

On this subject, Cheney stated, “I think what is really crucially important to remember here is that you had Strzok and Page, who were in charge of launching this investigation, and they were saying things like, ‘We must stop this president, we need an insurance policy against this president.’

“In my view, when you have people that are in the highest echelons of the law enforcement of this nation saying things like that, that sounds an awful lot like a coup – and it could well be treason and I think we need to know more.”

One of the more damaging exchanges for Strzok and Page was:

Page: [Trump’s] not ever going to become president, right? Right?!

Strzok: No. No he won’t. We’ll stop it.

That specific exchange wreaks of desperation and of two people of influence that appear to be ready to do just about anything in their power to stop Trump, and that would include launching a bogus investigation.

The ‘T’ Word

To this point, nobody has dared use the treason word, but Republicans now appear to be ready to match Democrats.

Dems have been fear-mongering in the media, accusing Trump of creating a constitutional crisis.

If it is found that agents during the Obama administration were conducting treasonous activities, it pretty much eliminates that narrative.

It actually makes Democrats look far worse, as though they are manufacturing a crisis to cover their own tracks.

Since Democrats refuse to back down off this narrative, going after Strzok and Page for treason may be the best chance this administration has of putting the Democrats completely on the defensive.

Remember, though, we still have the multiple investigations underway in the Justice Department investigating the origins of the Russia probe, of which this is surely a part.

If investigators are able to find evidence of wrongdoing by these two and couple it with these texts, Cheney may get her wish and both Page and Strzok could find themselves in court defending treason charges.
