The country was still reeling from the mass shooting in El Paso, TX when a like event occurred in Dayton, OH.
According to reports, the early Sunday morning shooting in Dayton left at least 10 people dead and more than two dozen wounded.
A Second Attack
This country has seen far too many of these mass shootings, but never have they occurred so closely together.
According to reports, the Dayton attack occurred shortly after 1 a.m. this morning.
The attack occurred for less than a minute but left mass carnage in its wake.
The shooter fatally shot nine people, with another 27 reportedly injured.
The shooter himself was the tenth casualty, as authorities killed him in the exchange.
Dayton Mayor Nan Whaley stated, “While this is a terribly sad day for our city, I am amazed by the quick response of Dayton police that saved literally hundreds of lives.”
While there have not been very many details released about the identity of the shooter, Ohio Senator Sherrod Brown provided some information.
Brown stated, “The mayor said it was — a young white male.
“I believe she may have said his age, I believe early 20s but I don’t know for sure.
“He came not from the city of Dayton, he came from a town in Montgomery County nearby, that is the county Dayton is in and that is all that I know.”
The Violence Epidemic in Our Country
Sadly, Democrats are already either blaming Trump for the shooting or using these shooting to score some political points.
But, they are missing the big picture here.
Something has gone terribly wrong in this country in terms of the violence that happens virtually every day.
The mass shootings get all the press, but this type of thing happens in cities like Chicago almost every weekend and nobody says a word about it.
These mass shootings are big opportunities for Democrats because they are generally carried out by white men with some type of semi-automatic weapon they mischaracterize as an assault weapon.
What about the 66 shootings that happened in Chicago over Independence Day weekend?
What about the more than 200 shootings that have occurred in that city alone over the course of July?
Dozens of people die in the streets of Chicago every month but Dems don’t even talk about it.
It’s not the guns, it’s the people, and until we actually look to solve and address that problem, this violence will continue.
