Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) is among those that simply wants to cast his vote to end this impeachment.
He feels that way because he believes the articles of impeachment, as written today, are an “admission of failure” on the part of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA).
Can’t Make It Up
When Senator Cruz was asked about the articles and the delay tactic used by Pelosi, he stated, “You can’t make this up.
“Listen, this is a sign of weakness.
“This is a sign she understands just how weak these articles are.
“These articles of impeachment that they actually voted on were really an admission of failure.”
Cruz then put a spotlight on how much of a joke this impeachment really is.
He stated, “For months they had been promising all of this evidence of criminal activity.
“For months they had been talking about bribery, talking about quid pro quo.
“But then they heard all the evidence and they got no evidence of it.
“These articles don’t allege any crime.
“This is the first time in the history of our country that a president has been impeached without a single article alleging any criminal conduct.
“They don’t allege any crime. They don’t allege any federal law violated.
“This was, at the end of the day, a political response because Nancy Pelosi and the Democrats hate the president.”
What About Obama?
Cruz would then address the corruption that happened during the Obama administration that everyone seems very willing to ignore.
He stated, “The Inspector General report is a stunning indictment of the politicization of the Obama Department of Justice and the FBI.
“The Inspector General report details 17 specific misrepresentations that the DOJ and FBI made to the FISA court.
“Inspector General Michael Horowitz was appointed by Barack Obama.”
Even though the FBI blatantly bent the rules, Democrats are still making this about Donald Trump and not even attempting to get to the bottom of the corruption.
In fact, Rep. Schiff (D-CA) has been instrumental in the cover-up, but the media is letting him off the hook as well.
While we may never get justice on that front, we do have some solace in the fact that this bogus impeachment will be stopped in the Senate and defeated.
It may not be everything we wanted, but it is the most critical piece of the puzzle we need in place to ensure this country continues to move forward.
