It looks like Democrats may have found a way to get Trump back into another impeachment scandal.
Since the World Health Organization funding that Trump recently suspended was approved by Congress, Dems are now hinting it could be grounds for impeachment.
The Russian/Ukraine Scandal
During Trump’s impeachment hearings, it came out that President Trump had stalled aid that was destined for Ukraine.
The administration has maintained the funding was stalled solely to ensure those in power were no longer corrupt.
Democrats, however, say that funding was stalled simply because Trump wanted to put pressure on Ukraine to provoke an investigation into Joe and Hunter Biden.
On the surface, Trump’s reasoning seems very sound, but because the funding was approved by Congress, Trump did not have the right to hold back the funding, even if he believed the country to be corrupt.
He would have had to go to Congress to legally have that funding halted.
History Repeats Itself
If there is still funding going to China for research, it will have more than likely been approved by Congress.
That being the case, Trump can only go to Congress and ask them to approve holding up the funding, not hold it back himself.
Even if we find that the virus did come from that Wuhan lab and both the W.H.O. and China conspired to keep it a secret, technically, Trump does not have the right to halt that funding on his own.
That being the case, Dems are frothing at the mouth to try to impeach him again over this.
A spokesman for the House Appropriations Committee, Evan Hollander, stated, “In a desperate attempt to deflect blame, President Trump is violating the same spending laws that brought about his impeachment.
“The president does not have the unilateral authority to withhold the United States’ assessed contribution to the World Health Organization.”
All I can say is that it is rather disturbing Democrats still seem more intent on impeaching Trump than they are at getting to the bottom of the World Health Organization’s possible role to conceal the truth from the world regarding COVID-19.
