American Islamic Forum for Democracy President Slams Rep. Ilhan Omar Over Middle East Tweet

For weeks now, we have been clamoring for the Muslim community to decry the words of Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn) and it has finally happened.

Dr. Zuhdi Jasser, the President of the American Islamic Forum for Democracy (AIFD), severely criticized Rep. Omar for her ignorant comments regarding the recent attacks in the Middle East.

The Tweet

Once again, Rep. Omar got herself into trouble with a tweet that exposed how little she actually knows about Israel situation with Palestine.

Over the weekend, a huge attack was instigated against Israel when Palestinian forces lobbed more than 250 rockets at Israel.

Israel responded with a volley of rockets itself, which reportedly killed at least six civilians.

Omar chose to not only ignore Palestine’s role in this but also ignored the fact this attack took place during a cease-fire and while Egypt was continuing to try to get both parties to sit down to work out a permanent peace agreement.

The Pushback

It did not take long for Omar to face criticism over her comments.

While there was some very notable pushback, the voice we found to be the most interesting was that of Dr. Jasser.

Dr. Jasser stated, “She [Rep. Omar] needs to look at her own talking points.

“If she truly is about universal human rights and humanitarianism, there’s no cycle.

“This is started and can be ended by Hamas’ terrorist actions.”

He further stated, “My question to her is if she cares about Muslim civil rights and cares about humanitarianism, then why doesn’t she call for them to stop the violence?

“Why doesn’t she call for an Arab Spring in the Palestinian areas against their tyrants which are Hamas and call for a new peaceful leadership?”

As stated, Dr. Jasser was not the only prominent figure to call out Omar for her ridiculous statements.

Both Donald Trump, Jr. and former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley also went after her on Twitter…

This is just the latest in a long line of gaffes by the anti-Semitic congresswoman from Minnesota.

If the Muslim community of Minnesota has any sense at all, they will pick someone else to represent them come election day.

Clearly, Ilhan Omar is hurting their case far more than she is helping it.
