Alan Dershowitz Blasts Mueller After Resignation

To this point, Alan Dershowitz has been a staunch defender of Robert Mueller, but that all changed after he heard Mueller’s statement on Wednesday.

Dershowitz, who pens an opinion column on The Hill from time to time, used his white space to absolutely shred Mueller, calling his statement, “worse than the statement made by then-FBI Director James Comey regarding Hillary Clinton during the 2016 presidential campaign.”

The main problem Dershowitz has with Mueller is that he went well beyond the scope of what he was brought in to investigate.

Furthermore, his comments went well beyond the scope of the actual report, which Mueller himself says is how his team should be judged in all of this.

Dershowitz stated, “By implying that President Trump might have committed obstruction of justice, Mueller effectively invited Democrats to institute impeachment proceedings.

“Obstruction of justice is a ‘high crime and misdemeanor’ which, under the Constitution, authorizes impeachment and removal of the president.”

As stated above, Dershowitz has defended Mueller, until now.

He stated, “Until today, I have defended Mueller against the accusations that he is a partisan.

“I did not believe that he personally favored either the Democrats or the Republicans, or had a point of view on whether President Trump should be impeached.

“But I have now changed my mind.

“By putting his thumb, indeed his elbow, on the scale of justice in favor of impeachment based on obstruction of justice, Mueller has revealed his partisan bias.

“He also has distorted the critical role of a prosecutor in our justice system.’

Finally…

I have been making the point since Mueller report initially came out that he was too cowardly to actually say what happened.

And that was that he could not bring the charges against Trump.

All Mueller did was take the easy way out so Dems would not attack him.

In the process, he gave them the crumb they needed to continue these ridiculous investigations.

In real life, prosecuting attorneys do not feed the beast if they don’t have enough evidence to indict.

Mueller, however, put down a bowl of food, then kicked the dog to make sure it was awake and knew it was feeding time.
