AOC Dealt Devastating Blow on Super Tuesday

In addition to watching the beginning of the end of the Bernie Sanders campaign, Rep. Ocasio-Cortez (D.N.Y.) got some more bad news.

In her much-touted effort to challenge Democrat incumbents to replace them with a socialist candidate, she was soundly defeated.

A Sound Defeat

Most conservatives have been very worried about this huge push to change the Democrat party into a socialist party.

AOC was leading that charge and she had three candidates on the slate of Super Tuesday states.

Jessica Cisneros was running against incumbent Henry Cuellar in Texas, and she was defeated, even though she also had been endorsed by both Sanders and Warren.

Christina Tzintzún Ramirez is trying to make it into a runoff election for another Texas Senate seat against MJ Hegar, who the establishment is backing in the general election against Senator John Cornyn.

As of recent returns, she is struggling to get past current State Senator Royce West.

Georgette Gomez has made the cut for California’s 53rd District congressional seat, but she is way behind establishment-backed Sara Jacobs by almost 10 percent in the popular vote.

On top of all this, AOC’s top aide, Corbin Trent, has left her campaign in the midst of her re-election run.

Trent was a major piece to her team, serving as the campaign’s spokesperson and a former leader for Justice Democrats.

About Bernie’s Night

While Bernie is still the co-leader and this election is far from over, he took a significant hit last night.

Bernie is a fighter, if nothing else, so he is not going anywhere, but Super Tuesday really hurt his campaign.

The biggest blows of the night were in losing both Minnesota and Massachusetts.

Bernie has the support of Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN), another Squad member, which was expected to put him over the top, but the Klobuchar campaign suspension and subsequent endorsement of Joe Biden proved to be far more important.

Joe Biden won the state convincingly, with 38.6 percent of the vote to Bernie’s 29.9.

Massachusetts should have been split between Sanders and Warren, but Bide was again able to come away with a win, netting 33.8 percent to Sanders’ 26.7 percent, with Warren finishing a disappointing third in her home state.

Another big hit was Texas. Sanders had recently taken a convincing lead in the polls, so he was counting on winning this state, but again, Biden came back from the dead and not only won the state, but he also got the Beto O’Rourke endorsement.

What we found out last night was that while there are definitely pockets of Americans willing to turn this country into a socialist haven, the majority of Americans are not.

With Bloomberg dropping out and backing Biden, Joe’s nomination seems like a foregone conclusion at this point.

Bernie will hang in there, but I just don’t see any way for him to win unless something really awful happens in the Biden campaign.
