Panel Member at Al Sharpton’s Event Rips AOC, Calling Her ‘Financially Illiterate’

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) is not only battling conservatives now but also highly influential business people in her own party.

Tracy Maitland, President and Chief Investment Officer of Advent Capital Management, only hours before AOC was to take the stage for her speech, stated, “The people campaigning against the Amazon campus are financially illiterate.”

What She Doesn’t Know

Maitland specifically held AOC accountable for New York losing the e-commerce giant.

He stated, “This was a disgrace.

“I partially blame AOC for the loss of Amazon.

“She doesn’t know what she doesn’t know. That’s scary.

“We have to make sure she’s better educated or vote her out of office.”

Maitland’s big problem with AOC fighting against Amazon was that she actually had no clue how the tax breaks being presented to the company would actually benefit New Yorkers.

Snatched Jobs Away from Students

Prior to being so vocal about Amazon setting up shop in New York, it would have benefitted AOC if she had actually talked to local representatives in discussions with Amazon.

For instance, Bill Thompson, the Chairman of City University of New York.

Thompson stated, “We were at the table talking to Amazon on how students could get jobs. … Those opportunities were snatched away.

“Those students look like us. … We’re talking thousands of high-paying jobs.

“It was a disappointment from a CUNY perspective.”

There is already a Republican in the 2020 race against Ocasio-Cortez, but she may soon find herself having to face off during a primary if she doesn’t get her act together.

Her inexperience is costing the people of her district and the city of New York significant money, all while she continues to push for her Green New Deal and reparations for African-Americans with lineage to slaves.

Ocasio-Cortez won her election convincingly, by roughly 90,000 votes, so she does have some room to play with, but that margin is getting significantly smaller with every new blunder.
