Apparent Mass Shooting in Philadelphia Largely Ignored by National Media

Wednesday saw a massive eruption of violence in the City of Brotherly Love.

Police reported that at least one shooter opened fire at the Olney Transportation Center on Broad Street.

Eight people were reportedly wounded, qualifying this as a mass shooting.

Those wounded ranged in ages from 17 to 71.

If this had happened in Texas, Arkansas, or Georgia, it would have made national headlines.

Instead, other than few alternative networks and local news outlets, the shooting was widely ignored.

The Details

Police were unsure if it was only one shooter or multiple shooters.

Philadelphia Police Commissioner Danielle Outlaw stated, “There could be multiple shooters, but we still don’t know.

“There were multiple casings found, 18 casings, and we’re still trying to determine if they all came from the same firearm.”

She added, “We were able to get someone in custody as quickly as we did because we had officers out working on another assignment.

“It’s not for our lack of presence out here, but I think it’s very telling that folks willing to engage in these shootings are becoming more and more emboldened whether we’re here or not.”

Two people have reportedly been taken into custody related to the shooting.

Philadelphia is quickly becoming the next Chicago, with homicides escalating by 30 percent in January.

A city with a long history of Democrat mayors, a state with a long history of Democrat governors, and a sanctuary city, yet Democrats seemingly could care less about the escalating violence.

The media is just as bad, simply ignoring a shooting of this magnitude for fear of making Democrats look bad.
