Bernie Sanders has a new excuse as to why his second attempt at the presidency is failing.
As his poll numbers slip, Sanders is now accusing the Washington Post of targeting him since he has been so critical of Amazon and its tax rate.
They Are Out to Get Me!
Sanders has consistently used Amazon to attack Trump over his most recent tax cut plan.
Since Amazon is owned by Jeff Bezos, the same man that owns the Washington Post, Sanders believes the paper now has an agenda against him.
Sanders stated, “I talk about (Amazon’s taxes) all of the time.
“And then I wonder why The Washington Post, which is owned by Jeff Bezos, who owns Amazon, doesn’t write particularly good articles about me. I don’t know why.”
He would later add “We have pointed out over and over again that Amazon made $10 billion in profits last year.
“You know how much they paid in taxes? You got it, zero!
“Any wonder why The Washington Post is not one of my great supporters, I wonder why?”
As usual, Sanders did not provide any proof of his claim, just the conspiracy theory that WaPo has it in for him to protect its owner.
The Response
Marty Baron, the executive editor of the Washington Post was more than happy to answer Sanders’ allegation.
He stated, “Sen. Sanders is a member of a large club of politicians — of every ideology — who complain about their coverage.
“Contrary to the conspiracy theory the senator seems to favor, Jeff Bezos allows our newsroom to operate with full independence, as our reporters and editors can attest.”
Now, if Trump made a statement like this, the media would be shredding him, but Sanders apparently gets a free pass.
What I find even more interesting is that two of the top Democrat candidates appear to be losing it mentally.
Creepy Uncle Joe seems to have a case of Alzheimer’s fermenting, as he is unsure when he actually served in the White House.
And now Bernie Sanders is pushing a conspiracy theory that one of the most left-leaning publications is out to get him.
The party that is looking for a change and diversity has two, old, white crazy men atop the field.
If this is all the Democrats have to offer America, Trump should have no problem winning re-election.
