Biden Finally Issues Statement on Trump Impeachment

Joe Biden has been relatively quiet during the impeachment trial of Trump.

Now that the trial is over and Trump has been acquitted, Biden is doing his part to keep the narrative going.

Biden Finally Speaks

After Trump was acquitted, Biden stated, “While the final vote did not lead to a conviction, the substance of the charge is not in dispute.

“Even those opposed to the conviction, like Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, believe Donald Trump was guilty of a ‘disgraceful dereliction of duty’ and “practically and morally responsible for provoking’ the violence unleashed on the Capitol.”

The McConnell reference that Biden made could be a problem moving forward for Trump.

McConnell seems intent on making sure that he never has to deal with Trump again, so he would seemingly support using the 14th Amendment or going after Trump as a private citizen to keep him out of the political world as we move forward from this.

I am honestly expecting an all-out war between Trump and McConnell right now, as the line has clearly been drawn by McConnell.

This is going to create a real struggle in the Republican party to unite because Trump has tens of millions of very loyal voters that will continue to support him and any candidate he throws his influence behind.

Initially, I thought McConnell would try to play nice, but that idea has since gone right out the window.

There is now a clear fracture in the Republican Party that we will see play out as we head into a very important 2022 election.
