Joe Biden has always tried to walk the line when it comes to abortion.
Now, with the move to the far left by the Democrat party, Biden is caving and is now backing the abolishment of the Hyde Amendment.
Hyde Amendment
The Hyde Amendment was passed by Congress in 1977.
It was one of the first pro-life pieces of legislation to go into effect after Roe v. Wade.
The legislation puts very specific stipulations of how government funds can be used for abortions.
It actually prohibits the use of these funds EXCEPT if the abortion is being performed to preserve the life of the woman.
It also allows government funds to be used if the pregnancy was a result of incest or rape.
The legislation is now under attack by liberals in an effort to eliminate any obstacles whatsoever to a woman killing her child.
Biden Flip-Flop
Biden has previously been a staunch supporter of the Hyde Amendment and was actually considered pro-life until very recently.
Biden, in 1994, wrote, “I will continue to abide by the same principle that has guided me throughout my 21 years in the Senate: those of us who are opposed to abortion should not be compelled to pay for them.
“As you may know, I have consistently – on no fewer than 50 occasions – voted against federal funding of abortions.”
More recently, in “Promises to Keep,” a book written by Biden in 2007, Biden wrote, “I’ve stuck to my middle-of-the-road position on abortion for more than 30 years.
“I still vote against partial birth abortion and federal funding.”
All of that has gone out the window.
When Biden was recently approached about his current stand on the Hyde Amendment, he completely flip-flopped his position…

Biden is clearly trying to appeal to the far left of the party with this decision but in the process, he is going to lose a significant part of the pro-life Democrat base.
Kristen Day, who is the Executive Director of Democrats for Life, stated, “Biden is making a critical error flip-flopping on his position on the Hyde Amendment.
“Among the current top-tier candidates, there is not a single one who is considering pro-life Democratic voters.”
With Democrats, abortion is now considered nothing more than another form of contraceptive.
Rather than take protective measures during sex, they would rather just kill an unborn child and discard it in a plastic bag with the rest of the trash.
The sad thing is they want Americans to actually pay for it.
Biden has such a huge lead right now, it probably will not matter in the primary, but it will surely matter during the general election.
Pro-life Democrats probably will not pull the handle for Trump, but now they may not pull it for Biden either, knowing he wants to make it easier to kill an unborn child than fight for its life.
