Every now and again, Bill Maher puts away his Uber-Liberal tag and actually says something that makes sense.
He did that this week while still managing to take a jab at Don Jr.
On Hunter Biden’s Ukraine business, Maher Stated, “It does sound like something Don Jr. would do. And if Don Jr. did it, it would be all Rachel Maddow was talking about it.”
Get a Job!
While Maher does not necessarily believe Joe Biden did anything wrong, he does believe Hunter taking the job he did was completely inappropriate.
He stated, “The more I read about this- no, I don’t think he was doing something terrible in Ukraine, but it’s just- why can’t politicians tell their f—–‘ kids, ‘Get a job, get a godd–n job!
“This kid was paid $600,000 because his name is Biden by a gas company in Ukraine, this super-corrupt country that just had a revolution to get rid of corruption.
“It just looks bad.”
Well, it looks a bit more than bad, since virtually every business contact Hunter made appears to have come through his father.
This, of course, does not even account for the fact that Hunter Biden was traveling on Air Force 2 making connections his father was dealing with on official business for the United States.
Still Had to Take a Shot
Even though Maher spoke some truth about the Democrats, he still managed to get in a few cheap shots on Trump.
Actually, I should say a cheap shot on Trump’s son, Donald Jr., by hinting we would be the one we would think to be involved in shady business dealings.
His dig against Trump was in a mock compliment to Republicans for “muddying the waters” over the Ukraine phone call by digging up Joe Biden’s activities regarding his son’s business dealings
Not Going to Get Him
Maher also stated that he believes when push comes to shove, nothing will come of the Ukraine dealings.
He also stated he believes Democrat candidates are starting to lose the interest of voters.
Maher stated, “In the last debate, Democrats didn’t talk about the economy at all. Didn’t talk about the economy!
“I think that’s what the voter is going to say. It’s like, ‘You guys are obsessed with this and you’re f—– bad at it, and you’re not talking about what matters to me! I’m worried about the end of the month, not the end of the world.'”
On the Democrats being successful in the impeachment of Trump over the Ukraine, he stated, “A lot of people today were saying, ‘We got him!’ you know, like I’ve never heard that before.
“Because this is different, because there’s a bribe involved — maybe.
“I wouldn’t get my hopes up.
“Maybe you can convince me this is going to be different. … Right now, I don’t think so.”
It won’t be any different Bill, but that is because Trump really did nothing wrong here.
I firmly believe the House will impeach him, but that will be as far as this partisan show goes.
