Everyone wants to know why National Guard troops are still guarding the Capitol.
Even though they were requested, National Guard troops were not in place on January 6, but they have been there ever since.
Acting Capitol Police Chief Yoganda Pittman finally offered some insight as to why, but I am not sure many people are actually buying it.
Attack Imminent
I would think if there was a true threat, we all would have heard about it by now, especially considering how much press the fact the Guard remains in place is getting.
Pittman, during her recent testimony to a House Appropriations subcommittee, stated, “We know that members of the militia groups that were present on Jan. 6 have stated their desire that they want to blow up the Capitol and kill as many members as possible, with a direct nexus to the State of the Union.”
She continued, “Based on that information,” she stated that it’s “prudent that Capitol Police maintain its enhanced security posture until we address those issues going forward.”
Is this why Joe Biden has not yet scheduled the traditional State of the Union Address after taking over office?
Or is this just an excuse for Biden not to take the stage for what is generally a very long address that could expose just how fragile he really is to all Americans?
At this point, I would not put anything past Democrats to help cover up the state of Joe Biden’s health.
