I have been saying from the outset that Joe Biden uses his religion as a shield, a shield he does not deserve cover from.
Biden could get away with the good Catholic boy narrative when he only offered limited support for abortion and did support gay marriage, two fundamental beliefs in the Catholic Church.
Biden has strongly pivoted on both of those issues now, and the Catholic Church is paying attention.
Kansas City Archbishop Joseph Naumann slammed Biden, openly questioning his faith, stating, “To have a president who is an engaged Catholic, but who acts in contradiction to some of our most fundamental moral teachings — we haven’t really faced that kind of challenge before.”
He continued, “It attacks innocent human life when it’s most vulnerable.
“It happens within the context of the family and attacks the most precious of human relationships: that between a mother and a child.
“And the sheer numbers of abortions — there’s no other issue in terms of the numbers of lives destroyed. So that’s why.”
Then he really buried Biden, stating, “That’s why it becomes a point of confusion.
“Obviously, the president doesn’t believe what we believe about the sacredness of human life, or he wouldn’t be taking the actions that he is.
“And yet, he continues to receive the Eucharist.”
Archbishop Naumann was not alone, either, as he was joined by other prominent Catholics in calling out Joe Biden on this front.
