Chicago Mayor Vows to Block ICE Raids

Earlier this week, President Trump announced the ICE raids are back on.

As one of the cities expected to have an ICE presence beginning Sunday, the Mayor of Chicago, Lori Lightfoot, has vowed to protect illegal immigrants in her city limits.

Cutting Off ICE

Mayor Lightfoot stated, “The Chicago Police Department are not going to be cooperating with ICE.

“That means we have cut off their access to our databases.

“They are not going to be facilitating or otherwise providing any assistance in any raids, whether its traffic stops, or its additional support…that’s an important thing for us to do.”

Now, correct me if I am wrong, but is that not aiding and abetting?

By the rule of law, the immigrants being targeted by ICE are criminals.

They entered this country illegally and have a federal court order that they are to be deported when captured by authorities.

A mayor of a city does not get to selectively enforce laws.

Furthermore, look at the city where this is happening.

Crime rates are through the roof and every weekend there are dozens of shootings and several murders.

Yet, Mayor Lightfoot is going to do everything in her power to block federal law enforcement from removing some of that criminal element from her city.

Sanctuary Cities

The practice of being a sanctuary city must be ended, period.

The time has come for officials in these cities to be held accountable for their actions.

Furthermore, when crimes are committed by the illegals they are harboring, city officials and local law enforcement that are complicit in harboring these illegals should be held just as accountable for the crimes as the person committing them.
