If Hillary Clinton thought her legal problems were over, she is about to get a rude awakening.
The Coolidge Reagan Foundation is demanding action for its 2018 complaint against Hillary Clinton after the FEC chairman’s critical comments about Trump accepting foreign dirt if offered.
The lawsuit is focusing on the payment and use of the Steele dossier during the 2016 presidential election season.
Falling for the Trap
Federal Election Commission Chairman Ellen L. Weintraub, in her efforts to criticize Trump, actually buried the former darling of the Democrat party.
During a recent interview, Trump stated he would listen to a foreign government if they had dirt on his political opponents.
At the time he made the statements, we stated here at SPN it may have been a ploy to purposely get Democrats enraged so he could counter-attack.
That is exactly what happened.
After considerable pushback on his statements, Trump slammed those outraged over his comments for not calling out Hillary for the use of the Steele dossier.
Among those expressing outrage was Ms. Weintraub.
She stated, “Let me make something 100% clear to the American public and anyone running for public office: It is illegal for any person to solicit, accept, or receive anything of value from a foreign national in connection with a U.S. election.
“This is not a novel concept.
“Electoral intervention from foreign governments has been considered unacceptable since the beginnings of our nation.”
Opening the Door
Weintraub, who is a registered Democrat, did exactly what conservative groups had hoped she would.
The Coolidge Reagan Foundation jumped at the opportunity to call her out on her own statement and well as her inaction for its existing complaint.
The Foundation had filed its original complaint back in August of 2018, but that action has not seen any movement since the filing.
Founder and President of the Coolidge Reagan Foundation, Dan Backer, challenged her to actually do something to back up her own words.
In the original complaint, the Foundation stated, “The Clinton campaign, not Trump, collaborated with the Russians in a desperate, and ultimately failed, attempt to steal the election.”
Backer, in response to the recent comments by Weintraub, stated, “I think Weintraub is full of hot air.
“I mean, after all, she’s very serious about Trump’s comment, but she hasn’t done anything about our complaint.”
By Weintraub’s own definition, the Clinton campaign violated election laws and must be held accountable.
Sadly, this is yet another story the mainstream media has completely ignored to both protect Hillary and continue its bogus narrative against President Trump.
