Cuomo Staffer Admits to Nursing Home Death Toll Coverup

For about the last month, New York Governor Andrew Cuomo has been under considerable fire over the totals of his nursing home deaths.

It was recently revealed that Cuomo was cooking the books to keep his numbers far lower than they actually were.

Now, reports are breaking the situation was far worse than anyone could have possibly imagined and it was one of his staffers that spilled the beans on Cuomo.

Bad Orange Man

We knew when Trump left office Democrats would use him as an excuse for as long as possible.

This time, however, it was so absurd, even Democrats were not accepting it.

During a recent conference call with New York Democrat leadership, Secretary to the Governor Melissa DeRosa revealed that the Cuomo administration was purposefully hiding the real numbers.

Why? Because they were afraid that then-President Trump might sick the DOJ on them.

Now, with Biden in office and no fear of being prosecuted, the truth is finally starting to come out.

In August, when the initial request was made for information, DeRosa stated that it was “right around the same time, [then-President Donald Trump] turns this into a giant political football.”

That is actually pretty funny because it was Democrats that politicized the pandemic, not Trump, but I digress because her excuse gets even more outrageous.

DeRosa continued, “He starts tweeting that we killed everyone in nursing homes.

“He starts going after [New Jersey Gov. Phil] Murphy, starts going after [California Gov. Gavin] Newsom, starts going after [Michigan Gov.] Gretchen Whitmer.”

She then claims the administration “froze” out of fear of the DOJ.

DeRosa added,  “Because then we were in a position where we weren’t sure if what we were going to give to the Department of Justice, or what we give to you guys, what we start saying, was going to be used against us while we weren’t sure if there was going to be an investigation.”

Her excuse was so lame, even Democrats were not buying it.

Assembly Health Committee Chairman Richard Gottfried (D-Manhattan) stated, “I don’t have enough time today to explain all the reasons why I don’t give that any credit at all.”

State Senate Aging Committee Chairwoman Rachel May (D-Syracuse) piled on, stating, “And the issue for me, the biggest issue of all is feeling like I needed to defend — or at least not attack — an administration that was appearing to be covering something up.

“And in a, in a pandemic, when you want the public to trust the public-health officials, and there is this clear feeling that they’re not coming, being forthcoming with you, that is really hard and it remains difficult.”

Cuomo spokesman Rich Azzopardi, in a prepared statement, said, “We explained that the Trump administration was in the midst of a politically motivated effort to blame democratic states for COVID deaths and that we were cooperating with Federal document productions and that was the priority and now that it is over we can address the state legislature.

“That said, we were working simultaneously to complete the audit of information they were asking for.”

When we look back to the order that Cuomo gave regarding nursing homes at the early stages of the pandemic, this amounts to a massive coverup to protect Cuomo.

Reports are now breaking that Joe Biden has summoned Cuomo to the White House to discuss the matter, no doubt to figure out a damage control strategy, because we all know nothing will ever happen to Cuomo, quite the opposite if this had all gone down in a state with a Republican governor.

We are about to see just how far Joe Biden is willing to go to protect members of his party when he should be tossing Cuomo to the dogs for costing Americans their lives.
