The acquittal has not even happened yet, but Democrat are already whining about it.
Several Democrats have already come forward to say they will simply not accept the vote if Trump is acquitted.
Like It Never Happened
It is pretty amusing watching the hypocrisy of this entire impeachment play out.
Democrats refused to give Republicans a single witness of their choosing during the House hearings.
Republicans were regularly silenced during their questioning periods, yet Dems still seem to think the House hearings were on the up and up.
Even with a rigged system, they failed to produce a legitimate case for impeaching Trump.
Now that the shoe is on the other foot, they are all crying foul, with Senator Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) leading the charge.
Schumer stated, “The president’s acquittal will be meaningless because it will be the result of a sham trial.
“If there are no witnesses, no documents in this trial, there will be a permanent asterisk next to the acquittal of President Trump written in permanent ink.”
Former presidential candidate Kamala Harris, the Democrat Senator from California, stated, “There will be no true acquittal if there is no fair trial.”
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) stated, “He will not be acquitted.
“You cannot be acquitted if you don’t have a trial, and you don’t have a trial if you don’t have witnesses and documentation and that.”
Rep. Hakeem Jeffries (D-N.Y.) agreed, stating, “I fundamentally agree with her point that in the absence of witnesses, in the absence of documents, in the absence of evidence, in the absence of a fair trial, how can the American people conclude that justice was done?”
I hate to be the one breaking it to Democrats, but there was a trial, it just wasn’t the trial the Dems wanted.
Democrats had several days of opening arguments to persuade Republicans the evidence to their supposed open and shut case against Trump deserved to be further explored, and they failed.
Just as Dems claim their impeachment is forever, so is Trump’s acquittal, and no amount of whining or complaining is going to change that.
