Dems Torpedo GOP Border Wall Funding Bill with ‘Radical’ Riders

While Democrats whine and complain about the border situation, including the facilities, they are the ones actually preventing a $4.5 billion package going through to help alleviate some of the border challenges.

Fox News just released a report revealing numerous riders Dems are attaching to the legislation that will make it all but impossible for the GOP to pass.

Nullifying Immigration Laws

Democrats have made it their mission to protect illegal immigrants in this country.

It is a movement that is beyond confusing to patriotic Americans.

How can elected representatives in this country willingly support people breaking the law to gain entry into the United States?

Not only that, but they are actually trying to make it easier for illegals to become legal.

Proof of this are the riders Dems are trying to attach to legislation Trump is just waiting to sign that will improve immigration facilities, technology, and staffing at the border as well as provide some funding for border wall construction.

It is that last part, the funding for the border wall, that Dems are torpedoing with these riders.

One source told Fox News, “The actual texts of the proposals they’ve sent have contained provisions that would functionally nullify federal immigration law.”

They are doing this with what is being described as “very extreme and radical” riders to protect illegal immigrants.

More specifically, they are trying to help those coming into the country illegally as a family unit, which also happens to be one of the areas of most concern by this administration because of the abuses of the policies in place already.

Encouraging Humanitarian Crisis

Human trafficking at the border is a real problem, even though Democrats completely ignore it.

Former DHS Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen stated, “children are being used as pawns to get into our country.”

She further stated, “We have encountered recycling rings, where innocent young people are used multiple times to help aliens gain illegal entry.”

Acting DHS Secretary Kevin McAleenan supported those comments when he testified before Congress, adding, “unless you’re a single adult, it is very unlikely you’ll be repatriated.”

As an example, Democrats want to stop asylum interviews by border agents.

Dems are trying to block information being shared by the Department of Health and Human Services with DHS, in essence, shielding possible child traffickers from prosecution.

The list of riders goes on and on, all protecting the sponsors of the children, some of whom we know come into this country for nefarious reasons.

The Fox News source stated, “So we’d not only be protecting the child smuggling loop, we’d be advertising the child smuggling loop to illegal aliens throughout the United States who would in turn then be able to have confidence they could pay a smuggler in a transnational criminal organization to smuggle a child into the country that we would then tell them we would deliver to them regardless of the lawbreaking involved.”

Dems, of course, are taking the dead opposite tack and pretending there simply is no problem of human trafficking and child endangerment at the border.

Evan Hollander, the spokesman for Appropriations Committee Democrats, stated, “Given the Trump administration’s terrible track record on immigration policy, House Democrats refuse to give President Trump a blank check and are insisting on policy provisions that protect the rights and dignity of migrants.

“These provisions strengthen the wellbeing of children and families, and claims they would affect child smuggling are absurd and false.”

Since the riders are mostly attached to the part of the bill that would fund the border wall, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) stated he will work on pushing through legislation for the “humanitarian” issues and leave the border wall funding out.

This, however, would give the Democrats yet another win in that they get what they want and President Trump once again walks away with nothing on border wall construction.

One thing McConnell did get right, however, is in stating, “I think it’s safe to say the president is getting more cooperation out of Mexico than he is out of congressional Democrats.”
