Divorce Filings Show Ilhan Omar Affair Wrecked Marriage

Omar the Homewrecker…

It sounds like the moniker for a wrestler, but it is how Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn) is being described by the wife of Omar’s alleged lover, Tim Mynett.

The Alleged Affair

Several weeks ago, pictures were blowing up social media of Omar and some mysterious man at a California restaurant.

It was later revealed that the man Omar had dinner with that night was Tim Mynett, a political consultant that worked on her campaign.

According to Mynett’s wife, the relationship was about far more than business.

In her divorce filings, Beth Mynett claims her husband told her he was “in love” with Omar.

The court filing stated, “The parties physically separated on or about April 7, 2019, when Defendant told Plaintiff that he was romantically involved with and in love with another woman, Ilhan Omar, who serves as a U.S. representative from Minnesota.”

Omar has denied the relationship.

When she was directly asked if she was in a relationship with Mynett, she stated, “No, I am not.

“As I said yesterday, I have no interest in really allowing the conversation about my personal life to continue and so I have no desire to discuss it.”

Possible Campaign Finance Violations

In addition to the scandalous affair, Beth Mynett may have also uncovered yet another political finance scandal of Omar’s.

During the course of his “working” relationship with Omar, Mynett’s company was paid roughly $230,000 for services.

Within those fees, more than $20,000 was reportedly for travel.

In the court filing, Beth Mynett stated, “Defendant’s more recent travel and long work hours now appear to be more related to his affair with Representative Omar than with his actual work commitments.”

If that is fact and not wishful thinking on the part of Mynett’s wife, this would, in fact, be a campaign finance violation.

If this is investigated and found to be true, it would be Omar’s second campaign finance violation in only her first term in office.

To say the least, it would not bode well for her political future.
