DOJ Says Senator Burr Will NOT Face Charges

Senator Richard Burr (R-N.C.) finally got word from the Department of Justice regarding his insider trader charges.

Luckily for Burr, no charges will be filed.

Got Off Easy

Amid the pandemic, Burr has been accused of making stock trades based on information he learned about in the course of his Senate duties.

This is far from the first time charges such as this have been levied against members of Congress.

After the investigation was concluded, it was determined that Burr had done nothing wrong.

After hearing of the results of the investigation, Burr stated, “Tonight, the Department of Justice informed me that it has concluded its review of my personal financial transactions conducted early last year.

“The case is now closed. I’m glad to hear it.

“My focus has been and will continue to be working for the people of North Carolina during this difficult time for our nation.”
