Dr. Fauci Debunks Politico Narrative on Trump’s European Travel Ban

Politico published an article earlier this week with the headline “Trump’s travel ban sidesteps his European resorts.”

The implication here is clear… that President Trump purposely avoided putting the travel ban in place in the UK to ensure his UK properties were protected.

This is not only wrong, but it is also very dangerous reporting because it will create yet even more panic with citizens of this country thinking the President is putting his business interests ahead of the welfare of We the People.

How They Got It Wrong

Here are two excerpts from the article, which set the tone for the deception:

“President Donald Trump’s new European travel restrictions have a convenient side effect: They exempt nations where three Trump-owned golf resorts are located.”

and

“The United Kingdom, which is home to Trump Turnberry and Trump International Golf Links, and Ireland, which is home to another Trump-branded hotel and golf course at Doonbeg, do not participate in the Schengen Area. Bulgaria, Croatia and Romania are also not part of the Schengen Area. All three of the resorts are struggling financially.”

First and foremost, the travel ban does not include U.S. citizens, so the entire insinuation that this would hurt travel to his properties is just flat-out wrong.

Citizens returning from overseas must go through mandated testing and self-quarantine when they come back.

Secondly, and far more importantly, the European travel ban was put in place via suggestions from medical experts, NOT Trump.

Dr. Fauci, widely recognized as the world’s foremost expert on this subject, discussed this very subject during a recent press conference. He addressees this specific issue at around the 4:15 mark of the video…

Additionally, during his Friday press conference where Trump declared a national emergency, he stated that his team is now looking at adding the UK to the travel ban because of a recent spike in cases.

This is, once again, a hit job by Politico to spew a narrative that is just blatantly false and unverified, simply for the purpose of hurting Donald Trump in the upcoming election.

Politico is NOT an opinion blog such as ours, but a mainstream media outlet that has significant influence in this country.

This is now at least the second fake news story they have published regarding the coronavirus, with the first being Trump calling the coronavirus a hoax (he did not, he called the Democrat attacks against how his administration is dealing with the emergency as a hoax).

Stories like this are exactly why grocery store shelves are empty and people are panicking.
