Eyewitness to Blake Shooting Sheds Light on Why Police Opened Fire

This weekend, Jacob Blake was shot multiple times by officers in Kenosha, Wisconsin.

A small snippet of the shooting was posted online, which resulted in protests in Kenosha and around the country.

This is the video that started it all…

AP is now reporting that the man that took the video heard police tell Blake to “drop the knife.”

The report stated, “The man who said he made the cellphone video, 22-year-old Raysean White, said he saw Blake scuffling with three officers and heard them yell, ‘Drop the knife! Drop the knife!’ before the gunfire erupted.

“He said he didn’t see a knife in Blake’s hands.

“The governor said he has seen no information to suggest Blake had a knife or other weapon, but that the case is still being investigated by the state Justice Department.”

To this point, media outlets are reporting that Blake was unarmed and are making this out to be an unprovoked shooting by police.

However, video from another angle has surfaced to show Blake scuffling with police prior to trying to get into his vehicle.

The bodycam footage from officers has not yet been released, but I would imagine that will shed even more light as to why officers opened up fire on Blake as he reached into his vehicle.
