GOP Congressman Rips Dems for Recess Over Immigration Reform

Everyone in the country will concede the problem at the border is getting out of hand.

For conservatives, we need a wall and we need to get the mass immigration numbers under control.

Liberals point to deteriorating conditions and family separation.

So, with all of that going on, why is Congress going on break as scheduled, ensuring this problem is not dealt with until at least sometime in September?

Fox News Critical of Break

The first outlet to bring this up was Fox News during a recent segment on “Fox & Friends.”

Brian Kilmeade was furious over the fact Congress will break and leave our border patrol agents to fend for themselves.

He stated, “They are going on vacation for six weeks and leaving Border Patrol with this crisis for 2,000 miles.

“They could act!

“They could stay through the weekend until they get something done.”

He added later, “It’s so depressing. It’s like if you’re a firefighter and see a whole neighborhood on fire and instead of turning on your hose when you arrive, you check your watch and say, ‘Um, my shift is over.'”

Republican Backlash

Kilmeade was not alone in criticizing our representatives for walking out on the job.

Several Republicans also lashed out at House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) for sending Congress on vacation.

Rep. Doug Collins (R-GA) stated this problem is deeply rooted in several areas and needs to be fixed.

Dems continue to hammer family separation, but Collins noted this “is just one component of this crisis, as it is clear that conditions at border facilities have deteriorated to an unconscionable level.”

They Don’t Want Problems Fixed

The actions by Pelosi prove Democrats are simply not interested in fixing these problems.

They need immigration to be a mess so they can rail against Donald Trump.

If immigration gets fixed and these problems go away, they fear Trump will get credit for it and it could cost them the election in 2020.

So, instead of doing their job, they will all get a long break to go on vacation, have cocktails, and sit by the swimming pool while our borders continue to be over-run and border detention facilities continue to be overcrowded.

One has to ask, how much do they really care?
