Heir Apparent? Trump Jr. Takes Stage to Chants of ’46’

Last night, on the eve of the New Hampshire primary, Donald Trump held a rally in New Hampshire to steal the Democrat thunder.

The star of the night, though, seemed to be Donald Trump Jr., who took the stage to chants of “46.”

Worry About Dad First

The meaning of the chant was rather clear… the crowd wants Trump Jr. to run for president in 2024.

Already sounding like a politician, Trump Jr. stated that while he appreciated the encouragement from the crowd, his main focus is on getting his father re-elected in 2020.

He then started to stump for the President, stating,  “I mean, when you look at the accomplishments, the things that he’s been able to get done, the things he’s been able to get done despite unprecedented resistance…Right? Nothing but resistance.

“No one watching can name a single thing that the Democrats have even tried to do over the last three-and-a-half years other than [to] prevent him from doing anything and he’s still getting it done.

“I love the direction that this country is going [in].

“Unemployment numbers are the lowest in recorded history for every demographic.

“I mean, we’re really living an American blue-collar boom which is what he promised.

“That’s why you’re getting those people – that many people – to show up, and to stay that long, and to be that supportive.”

Will Jr. Run?

That is a really good question.

My personal hope is that Nikki Haley comes back to the political world as I believe she would be a great transition for Republicans to keep this agenda running strong.

It would also be great to beat Democrats to the punch for the first woman president.

I am not so sure Trump Jr. can, at this time, energize the voting base and party the way his father did in 2016 and continues to do today.

This is not to say he does not have a future in politics, because he could clearly go down that route if he chose to.

However, if he did run and he did manage to get elected, we would be assured of another four to eight years of obstruction from Democrats and I just don’t think the country as a whole could handle that.

Let’s not forget, he is only 42 years old at this point, which could be a tough sell.

Nine or 13 years from now, though, I could see this happening and re-energizing the entire country, especially if a Democrat somehow wins in 2024.
