He’s Baaack… Joe Biden Wins Huge in South Carolina

As expected, Joe Biden won South Carolina, but the big news was that he won it in such a dominating way.

Joe Biden finished with 48.4 percent, about 20 percent higher than most polls had him at.

Bernie Sanders came in second at 19.9 percent, so they walk with 35 and 13 delegates respectively.

The next closest candidate was Tom Steyer at 11. 3 percent, then Buttigieg at 8.2 percent, and Warren at 7.1 percent.

Failing to get a single delegate in the first four states, Steyer actually ended his campaign Saturday night.

Big Day for Joe

This was a huge day for Biden, but as stated above, not completely unexpected.

Now, in addition to being neck and neck with Bernie Sanders, he has taken the lead in the popular vote.

Biden called it “a big boost” and further stated, “I think it starts the real comeback and we picked up a lot of delegates.”

The news on the fundraising end was also good for Biden, as reports have him picking up close to $5 million overnight.

It’s a Marathon

As good as South Carolina was for Biden, Super Tuesday will probably be that bad.

Up until now, he has not had to share votes with anyone but that all changes with Bloomberg being on the ballots on Tuesday.

Not only that, Biden has not visited a Super Tuesday state in about a month and he has barely spent any money in these states.

Hindsight is going to be brutal for Biden, as he should have spent far less time working for Iowa and New Hampshire knowing Sanders and Buttigieg had a lockdown on those two states.

That money and time could have been spent working the Super Tuesday states, where Biden barely has a ground game in place.

For instance, Sanders now has 23 offices working in California and Joe Biden has one.

It doesn’t help that Biden skipped the state’s convention and has paid little to no attention to California throughout this campaign.

Considering the number of delegates available, more than all the states combined so far, this is a colossal misjudgment on the part of Biden.

There is no denying the fact that Biden was brought back to life in South Carolina, but the real question is if this is just a mirage or if he is a real threat to Sanders.

We will all have that answer by Wednesday morning when we see just how bad of a beating Biden takes on Super Tuesday.
