Hillary Clinton Accused of Defamation by Democrat Presidential Candidate

What we have here is an epic battle of old school establishment and a member of the new left.

There was a time when someone like Hillary Clinton could say and do whatever she wanted and younger party members would sit on their hands and say nothing, but those days are long gone.

After Hillary Clinton accused Tulsi Gabbard of being a Russian agent, the struggling Democrat candidate and Hawaii congresswoman has now publicly accused Clinton of defamation and Gabbard is demanding an immediate retraction.

It’s a New Day

Hillary is no longer untouchable, especially when it comes to the new breed of the party.

Because Gabbard is not a front-running candidate, we may never know how much Clinton’s outrageous comments really hurt her campaign.

Regardless, though, Gabbard wants some satisfaction.

This all started when Hillary accused Gabbard of being a Russian asset during a recent interview.

Hillary stated, “I’m not making any predictions, but I think they’ve got their eye on somebody who is currently in the Democratic primary and are grooming her to be the third-party candidate.

“She’s the favorite of the Russians.

“They have a bunch of sites and bots and other ways of supporting her so far. And, that’s assuming Jill Stein will give it up, which she might not because she’s also a Russian asset.

“Yeah, she’s a Russian asset. I mean, totally.”

While Clinton did not name Gabbard, the implication was clear and the connection to Gabbard was immediately made by both the media and Gabbard.

Gabbard’s attorney issued a letter, stating, “In making the statement, you knew it was false.

“Congresswoman Gabbard is not a Russian asset and is not being groomed by Russia.

“Besides your statement, no law enforcement or intelligence agencies have claimed, much less presented any evidence, that Congresswoman Gabbard is a Russian asset.

“This fabricated story is so facially improbable that it is actionable as defamation.”

Gabbard’s attorney is demanding that Hillary issue both a public retraction via social media as well as a direct apology to Gabbard.

Hillary has not yet commented on the request and as of yet, Gabbard has not made it clear if she intends to sue Clinton if Hillary does not meet her demands.

It should be noted that after Hillary made her comments, she pulled out of an upcoming event where should have had to face Gabbard in person.
