House Passes Additional $2,000 Stimulus Check Trump Requested

Donald Trump finally got something he could celebrate.

On Monday, the House passed a bill that would boost the $600 stimulus payment to Americans to $2,000.

The bill received overwhelming support on both sides of the aisle and will now head to the Senate.

The bill is expected to receive some resistance among Senate Republicans, but not enough to prevent it from passing.

For Trump, this delivers on one of the two promises he made when he signed the omnibus bill that he was held over a barrel to sign.

With there being enough support for the bill in both the House and Senate, vetoing the bill would have surely resulted in the veto being overturned.

Even so, some of his supporters would have preferred that route rather than having the media say that he “caved” and gave in to mounting pressure.

Now, other than cutting the excessive spending in the bill, which Trump also vowed to fight, we would expect to see some type of legislation before Trump leaves office to remove the Section 230 protections for big tech.
