Justice Kavanaugh has been exemplary on the bench
His decisions have proven that he is not biased, as Dems suggested he would be all along.
Since the House investigations against Trump are coming up empty, however, Rep. Jerry Nadler (D-N.Y.) and company are now going for Round 2 against Brett Kavanaugh.
Seeking Records
When Kavanaugh was being confirmed, his office turned over every piece of paper it legally could.
Some of his records were inaccessible, however, which are the very records Nadler is now requesting.
After submitting his request for documents for Kavanaugh’s work during the Bush administration, Nadler stated, “As a result of this process, the Senate Judiciary Committee received only a small fraction of Justice Kavanaugh’s White House record before voting on his nomination.”
This is yet another fishing expedition and blatant abuse of power by Democrats and nothing more.
Justice Ginsburg has even defended Kavanaugh in the media, but I guess that is simply not good enough for Democrats.
Republican Pushback
Conservatives and Republicans alike were furious when the announcement was made that Nadler appears to be trying to do a do-over on the Kavanaugh hearings.
Former House member Jason Chaffetz stated, “This is where the House Judiciary is spending their time?
“All the issues that face our nation, this is where they’re spending their time?”
“We think there might be something wrong, but don’t know what it is.
“There is just a pattern here with Democrats who are on these fishing expeditions as opposed to pursuing something where they have actual evidence of wrongdoing.”
He is dead-on, as there simply is no reason for Nadler to request these papers.
It is the Mueller hearing all over again.
Nadler is looking for crumbs… a small thread he can pull on in the hopes of ruining Kavanaugh’s career.
Rep. Doug Collins (R-GA), who has been very vocal about the Democrat abuse of power, once again slammed the Democrats for their actions.
Collins stated the request is so “far outside the scope of judicial ethics, it’s harassment.”
Lisa Boothe, a Fox News contributor, stated that Kavanaugh had “turned over more documents than the last five Supreme Court nominees combined.”
She added, “I think he has been litigated in the public eye as well as any other nominee [before Congress].
“I think that’s done and it’s a lifetime appointment.”
This behavior by Democrats is shameful.
While I very much look forward to the point where we can finally move forward in this country, I have to admit, deep inside, I want Republicans to return the favor and absolutely shred the next Democrat president and his or her first Supreme Court nominee, especially if it is Joe Biden.
That man has more skeletons in his closet, especially regarding his son’s income, that Republicans could make his life miserable.
Their party needs to understand and face the same scrutiny they have put Trump, his appointments, and conservatives in general through over the last two years and the years ahead while Trump remains in office.
