President Trump is taking a lot of heat from liberals and Democrats for tearing into Rep. Elijah Cummings.
However, a similar comment was made by Senator Bernie Sanders during the 2016 presidential campaign, as he referred to West Baltimore as a “Third World country.”
The Trump Tweets
Early Saturday, Trump sent out a series of tweets that blew up social media and sent the entire Democrat party into a tizzy…
….As proven last week during a Congressional tour, the Border is clean, efficient & well run, just very crowded. Cumming District is a disgusting, rat and rodent infested mess. If he spent more time in Baltimore, maybe he could help clean up this very dangerous & filthy place

Why is so much money sent to the Elijah Cummings district when it is considered the worst run and most dangerous anywhere in the United States. No human being would want to live there. Where is all this money going? How much is stolen? Investigate this corrupt mess immediately!

Nancy Pelosi called the tweets racist.
A CNN host spun the tweets as racist and insisted Trump only uses the word “infested” to imply people of color are vermin.
Those assertations are bogus and everyone knows it.
The fact of the matter is that while some may call Trump’s tweets racist, they are nothing more than brutal honesty.
The fact is Cummings’ area of Maryland has some of the highest crime rates in the state.
National crime watchdog sites rank that part of the city as being the most dangerous in the state.
All the while, Cummings has amassed a fortune, with a current net worth estimated at well over $1 million.
I would not go so far to call Cummings corrupt because I don’t want to get sued for slander, but it sure would be nice to know how he amassed that fortune while serving in Congress.
What About Bernie Sanders??
During the 2016 presidential campaign, Bernie Sanders toured West Baltimore.
He specifically visited the area of town where Freddie Gray was arrested.
Sanders was shocked at what he saw.
While talking to reporters after his tour, Sanders stated, “Anyone who took the walk that we took around this neighborhood would not think you’re in a wealthy nation.
“You would think that you were in a Third World country.”
He later added, “But today what we’re talking about is a community in which half of the people don’t have jobs.
“We’re talking about a community in which there are hundreds of buildings that are uninhabitable.”
So, if Sanders called West Baltimore a third-world country and talked about uninhabitable buildings, why was he not labeled a racist?
Sure, Trump was a bit blunter about, but did they not make the same point?
Furthermore, after almost four years, why has the situation not changed? What are people like Rep. Cummings doing with the state and federal money being poured into the area that is supposed to be helping?
Perhaps Trump is onto something… maybe Cummings should give up his leadership role, roll up his sleeves, and get to work actually doing something for the people that voted for him.
Liberals and Democrats may not like what Trump has to say or the way he says it, but he is doing nothing more than telling the truth.
