Rep. Ocasio-Cortez is going to have some competition for her congressional seat come 2020 from a very unlikely source.
Scherie Murray, who migrated to the United States from Jamaica with her parents at the age of nine, has announced her candidacy.

On the surface, it looks like AOC might be in for the fight of her life.
The fact New York lost Amazon is still not sitting very well with a lot of people.
Nor is the fact AOC, after having won the election, was virtually unapproachable by her constituents for months.
She had no official office, not even a phone line, in her district for months after the election.
Furthermore, most of the complaints of the constituents went largely ignored so AOC could push her own agenda.
Murry has hit the ground running and is clearly sending the message she will be there to actually represent the people of her district.
Most people would probably assume an immigrant from Jamaica would want to run as a Democrat, but that is not the case here.
Murray stated she will be running as a Republican and there is little doubt she will get the full support of the Republican party behind her, including Donald Trump.
Murray stated, “There is a crisis in Queens, and it’s called AOC.
“And instead of focusing on us, she’s focusing on being famous.
“Mainly rolling back progress and authoring the job-killing Green New Deal and killing the Amazon New York deal.”
Murray is now the fourth Republican to enter the race, but she seems to have the best chance of any of them.
AOC may not even get out of the primary, though, as there are more than a few whispers the Democrat elite have taken about all they can from AOC.
It would honestly not be surprising at all to see another Democrat announce and challenge AOC for her seat, just as AOC has threatened to do against establishment Dems that do not fall in line with her agenda.
We are not pretending this is going to be easy, as AOC’s district is and always has been a blue one.
However, Murray would appear to have the right plan of attack against AOC and the fact she is an immigrant may play very well with voters skeptical of a Republican.
