Feds Indict Judge That Helped Undocumented Immigrant Escape ICE

Remember Judge Shelley M. Richmond Joseph?

She is the judge that infamously helped an illegal immigrant hide and escape from ICE agents at a Massachusetts courthouse.

Well, Judge Richmond-Joseph and one of her court officers were just indicted by the feds for helping Jose Medina-Perez, the illegal she helped escape.

The Rule of Law

Something Democrats have continuously preached over the last two years is the rule of law.

While lecturing Americans on the rule of law, they simultaneously condone helping individuals that entered this country illegally, thereby breaking the law.

Justice finally caught up to one of them.

After Jose Medina-Perez made an appearance in her courtroom, Judge Richmond-Joseph decided to not honor the ICE detainer and helped Medina-Perez escape.

She will now be the one headed to jail.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office stated, “This case is about the rule of law.

“The allegations in today’s indictment involve obstruction by a sitting judge, that is intentional interference with the enforcement of federal law, and that is a crime.”

Judge Richmond-Joseph is being charged along with court officer Wesley MacGregor.

Justice Served

Now that Judge Richmond-Joseph has been indicted, she has also been suspended without pay,

Both she and MacGregor had their first court appearance on Thursday.

The pair pled not guilty to all charges.

Richmond-Joseph was seen in tears as she left the courtroom, possibly wondering how such a good deed has led her to so much difficulty.

Special Agent Peter Fitzhugh, the agent in charge of the investigation, stated, “As public servants, all of the officers in the court make a promise – a promise to serve the people’s interest above all else.

“Today, we know this promise has been broken.”

The facts in this case are painfully clear that Richmond-Joseph did everything in her power to make sure the illegal immigrant did not end up in the hands of ICE agents.

Courtroom recordings should seal both of their fates.

In the recording, both Richmond-Joseph and Medina-Perez’s attorney can be heard developing the beginning of the plan to spring Medina-Perez.

As this discussion is going on, the Judge tells her clerk to shut off the recorder.

Minutes later, MacGregor escorted Medina-Perez out of the courthouse, avoiding ICE agents in the process.

To make matters worse, Judge Richmond-Joseph lied about the incident when she was questioned about it later.

The freed illegal was eventually apprehended about a month later, but he was once again freed on bond by the immigration judge that heard his case.

According to records, Medina-Perez is a native of the Dominican Republican and he has been deported on two separate occasions already (2003 and 2007).
