Major Supreme Court Victory for Trump on Immigration

On Friday afternoon, the Supreme Court handed down a decision that will surely have Democrats spinning.

The Supreme Court has overruled a lower court ruling that blocked Trump from using Pentagon funds for border wall construction.

Blocking Trump’s Agenda

As everyone knows, the border wall is a major platform issue for the Trump administration.

Chants of “build the wall” echoed at every really and continue today.

However, because of legal obstacles, the administration, by and large, has been blocked from constructing the border wall.

Trump has stated there are sections of a border wall being built, but the lower court ruling had held up $2.5 billion that had been reallocated for the project.

Now, the administration can move forward with the contracts that had been awarded and immediately begin the wall construction on a far larger scale.

Voting Along Ideological Lines

The ruling was far from a slam dunk, especially considering how this court has voted in recent decisions.

There are currently three justices on the conservative side that have regularly crossed the ideological line to vote with the liberal side of the bench.

Today’s ruling went right along those lines, though, with all five conservative justices voting in favor of the measure and the four liberal justices voting against it.

Needless to say, President Trump was ecstatic over the ruling.

Immediately after the ruling was announced, he tweeted, “Wow! Big VICTORY on the Wall.

“The United States Supreme Court overturns lower court injunction, allows Southern Border Wall to proceed.

“Big WIN for Border Security and the Rule of Law!”

This victory will surely impact the 2020 election as up until now, Democrats could tout the fact they were able to, at least for the most part, prevent Trump for building the wall.

Now, it is yet another in a long list of delivered promises for President Trump that should further boost his approval rating and get him that much closer to winning re-election.
