McConnell Calls Trump Impeachment ‘vote of conscience’

The House has already voted to impeach Trump for a second time.

While Democrats called it a matter of urgency, that urgency suddenly got dialed down when Joe Biden balked.

Biden is now worried that an impeachment in the Senate could delay Cabinet confirmations as well as his very aggressive 100-day agenda.

Pelosi has yet to transmit the documents, so we have no idea when that Senate trial will begin.

However, when it does, current Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) has called it a “vote of conscience.”

It is actually terrifying that McConnell is now a member of the group of Republicans echoing Democrat talking points.

This is NOT a vote of conscience but rather a vote for what is right and what is wrong.

If Republicans honestly believe that Trump’s words caused the riot at the Capitol, then they should be voting to impeach.

If, however, they look at the facts and realize that this is far more likely the work of a select group of bad actors that used Trump’s rally as a launching point for their own nefarious intent, then there simply is no way Trump should be impeached.

First and foremost, we have to get to the truth about the riot and hold every individual accountable for their actions.

That is going to take time, far more time than Democrats are currently offering to get to the truth.

This impeachment is not about justice for the riot but a personnel vendetta of Pelosi’s to rid the political world of a man she despises… nothing more.

The fact McConnell seems to be buying into the Democrat narrative both sickens me and reveals what I have been saying for years about the man… he is a spineless coward.
