Media Torches Barr, Democrats Pile On

The mainstream media is absolutely roasting Attorney General Barr over the Mueller letter, and now Democrats are walking over to pour gasoline on the fire.

The latest high-profile Dem to jump on the bandwagon is Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA), who has demanded Barr resign over the summary letter he sent to Congress.

The Mueller Letter

The latest round of madness started when it became public knowledge that Mueller had sent Barr a letter after the first summary report was sent over to Congress.

In his letter, Mueller expressed concern regarding the media coverage of the summary report.

The letter specifically stated that Mueller did not believe anything in Barr’s summary was inaccurate.

However, he did state he did not believe the nuances of his report were being accurately reported.

They key here is the accuracy point made by Mueller, because that is where Democrats and the media have put Barr’s summary on the rack to twist and contort the narrative.

The Media and Democrat Spin

The way to report the Mueller letter would have been to publish it, highlight the appropriate part of the letter, and allow the public to determine what was being said by Mueller.

Had the media done that, this would be no big deal.

Instead, the letter has been portrayed as Mueller freaking out that Barr actually misled the media about the Mueller report. After two full days of the media slamming Barr with one negative headline after another, Democrats decided to jump in with both feet.

The most notable of the Democrats making bogus allegations against Barr was Rep. Adam Schiff.

Schiff went so far to say that Barr would already be in jail for perjury and purposely misled the public regarding the Mueller letter.

Schiff is concentrating on Barr’s last testimony before Congress in April where Barr stated he did not know why the Mueller prosecutors were frustrated with his initial summary.

Since the letter from Mueller was dated March 27, Schiff believes Barr lied.

Again, not true.

Several sources have already reported and Barr has backed this up with his testimony today, that after speaking with Mueller (after Barr received the letter and called him), Mueller was upset the media had “misinterpreted” the report.

Note, there was no mention of how Barr misled anyone, just the media.

Furthermore, the discussion was regarding Mueller and Barr, NOT the Mueller team.

The DOJ stated, “After the Attorney General received Special Counsel Mueller’s letter, he called him to discuss it.

“In a cordial and professional conversation, the Special Counsel emphasized that nothing in the Attorney General’s March 24 letter was inaccurate or misleading.

“But, he expressed frustration over the lack of context and the resulting media coverage regarding the Special Counsel’s obstruction analysis.

“They then discussed whether additional context from the report would be helpful and could be quickly released.

“However, the Attorney General ultimately determined that it would not be productive to release the report in piecemeal fashion.

“The Attorney General and the Special Counsel agreed to get the full report out with the necessary redactions as expeditiously as possible.

“The next day, the Attorney General sent a letter to Congress reiterating that his March 24 letter was not intended to be a summary of the report, but instead only stated the Special Counsel’s principal conclusions, and volunteered to testify before both the Senate and House Judiciary Committees on May 1st and 2nd.”

Now, that paints a far different story than the one Dems and the mainstream media are spewing right now.

Barr appears to be completely cooperative and has clearly been communicating on a regular basis with Special Counsel Robert Mueller.

Those are the facts, quite contrary to what the media is trying to sell the American people right now.

Quite frankly, it is Rep. Schiff that should be stepping down, not Barr.
