Mueller Officially Resigns but Leaves More Questions Unanswered

Robert Mueller has officially declared the Special Counsel investigation over and has resigned from the Justice Department.

However, on his way out the door, Mueller made statements that are going to have Democrats foaming at the mouth.

No Confidence

Mueller may have muddied more waters on his way out the door rather than clearing them up.

He more or less gave Democrats exactly what they wanted to justify continuing investigating the President for obstruction.

Mueller flat out stated, there “was not sufficient evidence to charge a conspiracy.”

That we already knew from the report.

However, it was what he said about obstruction that has created the morning buzz.

Mueller stated, “If we had had confidence that the president clearly did not commit a crime, we would have said, so.

“We did not determine whether the president did commit a crime.”

As if that was not bad enough, he further stated the office did not present charges against Trump due to the Justice Department’s mandate that a sitting president cannot be indicted.

On the obstruction charge, Mueller stated, “Charging the president with a crime was not an option we would consider.

“It would be unfair to accuse someone of a crime when there could be no court resolution of the charge.

“The Constitution requires a process other than the criminal justice system to formally accuse the president of wrongdoing.”

Mueller then went on to put the onus of charging a sitting president on Congress.

He then stated, “We concluded that we would not reach a determination one way or the other about whether the president committed a crime.”

Cowardly Path

Trying to figure out what Mueller was trying to say was like blindly heading into a roundabout during rush hour.

On one hand, he is citing a sitting president cannot be charged, so they did not reach a conclusion, then he flip flops to say there was no clear evidence either way.

My interpretation is that he just doesn’t have the guts to say there was no crime and is purposely giving the Democrats the excuse they needed to continue to make Trump’s life miserable.

Mueller is admitting that they did not have enough evidence to prove any wrongdoing, so it should be case closed, but we all know that is not going to happen here.

By simply mentioning it was not his place to bring charges, the Democrats are going to focus on that aspect of his statement and rail they need to further pursue this.

Mueller more or less admitted he wasted everyone’s time and money and we are no closer to have this debacle over with than we were two years ago when it was started.
