Nadler Defies Pelosi, Moving Forward with Effort to Impeach Trump

According to numerous reports after the Mueller hearings, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi ordered House Judiciary Chairman Jerry Nadler to back off the impeachment narrative.

Nadler and Pelosi played nice for the cameras, then Nadler went right to work on an impeachment inquiry against Trump, blatantly disregarding the mandate from Pelosi.

Going After Grand Jury Testimony

Nadler did not get what he wanted from Mueller, so now he is going to try to have grand jury testimony for the case unsealed.

The filing stated, “Because Department of Justice policies will not allow prosecution of a sitting president, the United States House of Representatives is the only institution of the federal government that can now hold President Trump accountable for these actions.

“To do so, the House must have access to all the relevant facts and consider whether to exercise all its full Article I powers, including a constitutional power of the utmost gravity — approval of articles of impeachment.”

After the filing was reported, Nadler held a press conference, stating, “Too much has been made of the phrase ‘an impeachment inquiry.’”

“We are doing what our court filing says we are doing, what I said we are doing, and that is we are using our full Article I powers to investigate the conduct of the president and to consider what remedies there are.

“Among other things, we will consider obviously is whether to recommend articles of impeachment.”

Still Lying, Still Wasting Time

To understand the level of deceit Nadler is willing to go to get his way, one need only listen to his comments about the Mueller hearing itself.

Nadler was quick to point to Mueller’s testimony when being questioned by Rep. Ted Lieu.

Mueller misspoke, stating that if not for the DOJ directive, he would have indicted Trump.

Democrats thought that was there “gotcha moment.”

Unfortunately, at least for them, Mueller recanted the statement during his House Intelligence Committee hearing and correctly stated his answer that that was not the case.

Mueller, however, neglected to include that little tidbit during this presser.

Point being, he is using a statement that was later taken back by a witness and portraying it as fact.

Sadly, this just tells us that our hopes for the witch hunt to be over may never come true.

Nadler and his merry band will no doubt continue down this path throughout this election cycle and will more than likely continue down it if Trump is re-elected president.
