Nadler Strikes Deal for Mueller Report Materials

House Judiciary Chairman Jerry Nadler (D-N.Y.) appeared ready to bring the full weight of Congress to bear on Attorney General Barr.

That all now appears to be put on hold, though, as Nadler just announced he has struck a deal with the Justice Department.

Underlying Documents

Ever since the Mueller report was released, Jerry Nadler and his fellow House chairs have been dying to see the underlying documents that supported the Russia probe.

Not being able to see those documents led to the threat of contempt against Attorney General Barr as well as several current and former Trump staffers.

While all of this has been going on, Attorney General Barr has only asked for time to review the documents before releasing them.

He has maintained he is more than willing to cooperate with Congress, however, there are procedures to be followed and that takes time.

While it may seem like this happened years ago, the Mueller report has only been out for two months.

There were literally millions of documents gathered during the investigation.

A little patience does not seem to be too much to ask for, especially considering a Republican-controlled House gave then-Attorney General Eric Holder more than 400 days to comply under similar circumstances.

In the Nick of Time

While there are only limited details available right now about the deal, we do know the Justice Department may make some of the materials available to the House later today.

This deal was made just a day before the House was set to vote on how to move forward to enforce the subpoenas that had been ignored to this point by both Barr and former White House Counsel Don McGahn.

Expect an all-out attack against Trump after these documents are released.

Dems will focus in on the instances of possible obstruction against Trump mentioned in the Mueller report.

However, be patient, because we already know some of that information has been twisted to suit the Democrat narrative.

Democrats are very likely to cherry pick information in these documents to make Trump look bad, just like Mueller did with phone call between Dowd and General Flynn’s attorney.

This is a developing story, so if there is more relevant information available as the day goes on, we will update this story.
