Nancy Pelosi Slams Supreme Court Ruling

Late Friday, Donald Trump won a huge victory when the Supreme Court voted to allow him to reallocate funds for construction on the border wall.

As word traveled throughout D.C. of that decision, Nancy Pelosi lashed out at the decision from the Supreme Court.

Pelosi stated, “Our Founders created a democracy, not a monarchy.

“The Constitution forbids the President from spending funds that were not appropriated by the Congress.”

“For months, the President has sought to undermine our military readiness and steal from our men and women in uniform to waste billions on a wasteful, ineffective wall that Congress on a bipartisan basis has repeatedly refused to fund.

“The Supreme Court’s decision tonight to allow President Trump to defy the bipartisan will of the Congress and proceed with contracts to spend billions of dollars on his wall undermines the Constitution and the law.”

Wrong Again Nancy

What Pelosi fails to mention is the fact that during states of emergency, as Trump has declared the problem at the border, presidents can reallocate funding to address this issue.

It has been done before and it will surely be done again in the future.

Liberals, however, are not going to drop this fight.

Dror Ladin, an attorney for the ACLU’s National Security Project, stated, “This is not over.

“We will be asking the federal appeals court to expedite the ongoing appeals proceeding to halt the irreversible and imminent damage from Trump’s border wall.

“Border communities, the environment, and our Constitution’s separation of powers will be permanently harmed should Trump get away with pillaging military funds for a xenophobic border wall Congress denied.”

Going Along Ideological Lines

President Trump was extremely happy when the decision came down.

His reaction was perfectly understandable, considering how this court has voted in the past…

On several occasions, members on the conservative side of the court have walked across the ideological lines.

In this case, though, the vote came down 5-4, with every justice voting along their expected party line.

For now, even though Dems are looking for a safe space, the contracts that were awarded can now move forward and the border wall project gets a much-needed $2.5 billion injection of cash.
