New Poll Bad News for Trump

The latest Quinnipiac University Poll is out and it is not exactly the numbers Trump had been hoping for.

According to the poll, Trump would lose heads up against virtually every top-ranked Democrat candidate in the race right now.

The Numbers

In a direct matchup against Joe Biden, the poll has Trump losing 53 percent to 40 percent.

The numbers against the most prominent candidates in the race were not much better:

Sanders polled at 51 percent to 42 percent.

Kamala Harris polled at 49 percent to 41 percent.

Warren polled at 49 percent to 42 percent.

Pete Buttigieg polled at 47 percent to 42 percent.

Cory Booker polled at 47 percent to 42 percent.

Most Republicans are on board with Trump, with the President winning 91 percent of the vote within his own party.

The numbers were similar for Biden among Democrats, with the former Vice President garnering 95 percent of the Democrat vote.

Among Independents, Biden took the majority again, holding a 58 percent to 28 percent lead.

Something else that is troublesome for the President is most voters are not giving him credit for the economy, as the Biden messaging that Barack Obama set him up for success is apparently hitting home.

The good news for Trump in all of this is his overall approval rating was up to 42 percent.

What to Take From the Poll

These numbers will no doubt energize the Democrats running for office, as they will now all think they have a shot, but we have to be realistic about this.

The poll surveyed 1,214 voters, with only 31 percent of them being Republicans.

We don’t expect Trump to win over many Democrats, especially if Biden gets the nod, but we do expect him to win over more of the Independents.

Additionally, the poll gives the campaign some insight on where they need to push their messaging.

Clearly, the administration needs to continue to push out its claim of growing the economy and showing supporting evidence to back up its claim.

Biden attacked Trump on the economy very early on, and it looks like his messaging hit home for some people.

We also need to take into account Dems have not yet started to air their own dirty laundry, and that will begin to change once the debate season opens up.

For now, it is almost as though they have all agreed to concentrate their messaging against Trump rather than attack each other.

With Biden’s lead, it is only a matter of time before his fellow Democrats start putting out the same information we have been about him and he is exposed as a fraud.

As far as the rest of the candidates go, we really don’t think any of them have a chance come election day.

When push comes to shove, most Americans are not going to vote for someone that wants to change America into a socialist country.

Right now, it has not really been a message by the Republican party, but that will change quickly if someone like Sanders or Warren wins the nod.

Trump also has a lot on deck right now that could make a dramatic difference in how this administration is perceived.

If Mexico gets in line and we see a dramatic drop off in illegal immigration, it is going to be hard to argue that his methods are not working.

Point being, don’t push the panic button just yet, because we are just getting started.
