Democrats remain furious that President Trump ordered the strike that killed Iranian General Soleimani.
As a counter move, House Speaker Pelosi just announced she his introducing a new measure in Congress to limit Trump’s war powers.
Muzzling Trump
If Iran acts against the United States, the president in power should have the ability to make the call for a counter strike (we are not talking about an outright declaration of war).
Pelosi is trying to prevent Trump from being able to do that.
Today, she announced that the House is working on legislation to limit the actions Trump will be able to take on his own without Congress getting involved.
Pelosi stated, “This week, the House will introduce and vote on a War Powers Resolution to limit the President’s military actions regarding Iran.
“It reasserts Congress’s long-established oversight responsibilities by mandating that if no further Congressional action is taken, the Administration’s military hostilities with regard to Iran cease within 30 days.”
This was surely a response to a tweet sent out on Sunday by Trump.
His tweet stated that any further action by Iran will result in additional military action…
These Media Posts will serve as notification to the United States Congress that should Iran strike any U.S. person or target, the United States will quickly & fully strike back, & perhaps in a disproportionate manner. Such legal notice is not required, but is given nevertheless!

Democrat Overreach
Democrats continue to act as though Trump was outside his right to act in this case.
As stated numerous times, the administration alleges that intelligence reports suggested Soleimani was about to carry out “imminent” attacks against U.S. targets.
Trump ordered the strike as a preventative measure, not to start a war.
Democrats, however, want to make Trump look like a warmonger and now Pelosi wants to tie his hands if the situation escalates.
It is a shame Pelosi and company were not this upset with Barack Obama and Syria or Bill Clinton and Kosovo.
I am all about checks and balances and in no way want the U.S. involved in another long conflict in the Middle East, but on the surface, the actions taken by Trump were justified.
We had a high-value target, the leader of a recognized terrorist organization, that was accessible, and we took the shot.
I would back Trump on that call 100 out of 100 times.
