Pelosi Names House Managers to Prosecute Trump in Senate Impeachment Trial

We are one step closer to the circus taking front and center stage.

On Wednesday, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) announced her team of House managers that will be tasked with prosecuting Trump during the Senate impeachment trial.

The team will be led by Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA), who is also the Chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, and Rep. Jerry Nadler (D-N.Y.), the Chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, both of whom ran the impeachment hearings in December.

Democrat Team in Place

For some reason, when Democrats talk about the impeachment, they sound as they are about to open presents on Christmas morning, so it is hard to take them at face value when they call it a “somber” event.

The House Speaker stated, “This is a very serious matter and we take it to heart in a really solemn way.

“It’s about the Constitution, it’s about the republic if we can keep it and [senators] shouldn’t be frivolous with the Constitution of the United States even though the president of the United States has.”

Pelosi was no different during this round, smiling at times as she described the path forward for the impeachment.

Her team is now in place, led by House Intelligence Chairman Adam Schiff (D-CA).

Pelosi’s team leans heavily on prosecutorial experience as well as impeachment experience.

Rep. Lofgren (D-CA), for example, has participated in three impeachments, spanning the Nixon, Clinton, and Trump administrations.

Pelosi added, “The president is not above the law. He will be held accountable.

“He already has been held accountable. He has been impeached and you can never erase that.”

Trump took no time at all to respond to Pelosi’s comments with another Twitter rant…

While McConnell would prefer a quick dismissal, it does appear there will be some witnesses called.

At least two Republicans have already expressed interest in hearing from, at the very least, former National Security Advisor John Bolton.

There are also whispers from at least one other Republican who wants to offer witnesses to ensure Republicans are not accused of rigging the trial.

No matter, because the fact of the matter is that Dems failed to make their case in the House and they simply do not have the numbers to convict in the Senate.

When all is said and done, Trump will be vindicated and this circus has done nothing more than show Americans just how corrupt our government has been for decades.
