Pete Buttigieg Wants to Erase Founding Fathers

Indiana Mayor and presidential candidate Pete Buttigieg is officially trying to erase some of the Founding Fathers from the footprint of this country’s history.

When recently asked if he would remove Jefferson and Jackson from events and buildings, Buttigieg stated, “I think it’s the right thing to do.”

Attacking the Founding Fathers

It is not exactly a secret some of the Founding Fathers of this country owned slaves when our country won its freedom from the British Crown.

Not justifying slavery in any way, shape, or form, but it was commonplace throughout the world at the time.

Both Thomas Jefferson and Andrew Jackson owned slaves, something Buttigieg believes should be cause to remove their names from events like the Jefferson-Jackson dinner as well as buildings around the country named in their honor.

While he tempered his argument against Jefferson, he stated Jackson was more or less responsible for genocide.

Regarding Jefferson, he stated, “There’s a lot, of course, to admire in his thinking and his philosophy, but then again if you plunge into his writings, especially the notes on the state of Virginia, you know that he knew slavery was wrong.”

And therein lies the problem with the argument liberals are making of having many of our Founding Fathers removed for buildings and, in essence, history.

American History

The battle between liberals and conservatives today is whether we are embarrassed or proud of our history.

Most liberals seem to believe there was never anything to be proud of in this country.

Conservatives, however, look to the progress that has been made since this country was founded and have huge pride in our country.

If it were not for the United States and the groundwork laid down by the Founding Fathers, where would the world actually be today?

America went to war with itself for among other reasons, to end slavery.

America has fought to give women equal rights.

America has fought to give equal rights to all men and women, regardless of race, creed, or color of their skin.

If you start erasing and stop honoring one Founding Father, where does it stop?

It is only a matter of time before the monuments of the Founding Fathers are torn down in D.C.?

How long before someone tries to have Jefferson and Washington removed from Mt. Rushmore?

Buttigieg represents the far-left belief that we should be ashamed of our history rather than learning from and appreciating the steps this country has taken, steps that are unmatched by any other country in existence, to offer equal treatment to all men and women.

We simply cannot allow that mindset to sit down in the Oval Office, ever.
