Over the course of the last year, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) has bent but not broken when it came to officially call for an impeachment inquiry.
With the media and some Democrats using alleged details of a phone call between Trump and the Ukrainian president to get people riled up, it now appears as though Pelosi is finally ready to give in.
With a reported 167 Democrats in the House now willing to back impeachment, sources are now reporting to NBC News that Pelosi is about to announce a formal impeachment inquiry.
The Latest Case for Impeachment
Over the last week or so, Democrats have been making a big deal about a phone conversation President Trump had with the Ukrainian President.
The U.S. was about to cut a rather significant aid check for Ukraine’s military, but Trump said that he wanted to put that on hold.
According to a whistleblower account, Trump then put pressure on Ukraine’s president to investigate Joe Biden and come up with dirt on him regarding an incident that happened with Biden was VP.
That incident, for those of you that do not know, is of Biden’s request to have a prosecutor fired.
The prosecutor, coincidentally, was investigating a case against Biden’s son’s company.
Within hours of Biden’s request, the prosecutor was fired and the U.S. handed over a truckload of money to the Ukraine (an already agreed upon aid package that Biden threatened to withhold).
Not so shockingly, the investigation into Biden’s son’s company was put on hold and a billion-dollar deal went through, leading to a windfall of cash for Biden’s son.
By the way, the Democrats have not even hinted that they want to investigate Biden on this.
The No-Case Case
The problem for Dems, though, is they have no case here and are going to look like fools if they push for impeachment.
This latest allegation is 100 percent hearsay on the part of the whistleblower.
The individual did not have access to the conversation and has not even seen a transcript of the call in question.
To make matters worse for Dems, President Trump recently cut them off at the pass and stated that he may release the transcript on his own “cause it was a very innocent call.”

The really shocking thing here is that as desperate as Democrats are, you would not think they would be foolish enough to press ahead on hearsay only, but that is exactly what they are doing here.
Democrats are only going to get one shot at this, and it is about to go down in flames, quite possibly with their hopes of winning in 2020.
Hopefully, Trump releases the transcript soon and completely embarrasses the latest effort by Dems to impeach him.
