[REPORT] Pelosi Orders Nadler to Back Off Impeachment

After the Mueller hearings, Rep. Jerry Nadler (D-N.Y.) continued to pitch the impeachment angle, as though the hearings were some massive victory for Democrats.

Realizing the hearings did far more damage to their cause than help it, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) reportedly told Nadler to dial it down and stop pushing impeachment.

Closed Door Meetings

Nadler and Pelosi are both lifelong politicians and have been working together in the Democrat party for decades.

As such, Pelosi is giving him a bit more respect than she is paying to AOC and her band of idiots in The Squad.

Rather than openly calling out Nadler, Pelosi reportedly called him in for a closed-door meeting to rebuff the House Judiciary Chairman and tell him to chill on the call for impeachment against Donald Trump.

Heading into the House hearings with Mueller this week, Nadler had accused Trump of “high crimes and misdemeanors.”

He used that specific language because those violations are specifically used as grounds for impeachment in the Constitution.

Different Story in Public

While reports of the private rebuff circulated, Nancy Pelosi put on a different face in the media.

This was no doubt to allow Nadler to save face.

After the hearings, Pelosi held a joint press conference with Nadler stating, “If we have a case for impeachment, that’s the place we will have to go.

“Why I’d like it to be a strong case is because it’s based on the facts — the facts and the law, that’s what matters.

“The stronger our case is, the worse the Senate will look for just letting the president off the hook.

“If it comes to a point where the cone of silence and the obstruction of justice and the cover-up in the White House prevents us from getting that information, that will not prevent us from going forward and in fact, it’s even more grounds to go forward.”

Nadler added his two cents, stating, “Today was a watershed day in telling the facts to the American people.

“With those facts, we can proceed.

“And we face a time of great danger.

“This cannot go on.

“And it’s up to Congress to safeguard the Constitution and we will do it.”

I was really curious to see how Democrats would spin this to ensure they are going to be able to continue down this path.

I have never pretended the Mueller report did not present some challenges for Trump, but it never proved to be grounds for impeachment, either.

The biggest factor for me is that once there was no collusion, the obstruction is irrelevant, something several Republicans addressed during the hearing.

This investigation NEVER should have happened in the first place and was clearly an act by Hillary loyalists to go after Trump.

It should be over, but Democrats are clearly going to waste our time and money to prolong these investigations without ever actually doing anything about their perfidious claims against the President.
