Sanders Slams Trump at Rev. Al Sharpton Event

It looks like Beto O’Rourke opened up a can of worms and now all the Democrat candidates are going to take a forkful.

While making an appearance at Al Sharpton’s National Action Network, Sanders slammed Trump, identifying the President as “…a racist, who is a sexist, who is a homophobe, who is a xenophobe, and who is a religious bigot.”

He added, “I wish I did not have to say that. But that is the damn truth.”

Riling Up Voters

Sanders is one of the originators of the racist and bigot claims against Donald Trump.

Voters were hoping this was all put behind us, but after O’Rourke’s appearance in Iowa, clearly Sanders felt the need to reinvigorate the embers on this claim.

Sanders avoided attacking Hillary until the very end of the primary in 2016, and he seems to be following the same game plan here.

He is avoiding saying anything negative about his opponents and focusing all of his attacks on the President.

Sanders also blamed Trump for the rise in hate crimes, not recognizing the fact many of these hate crimes are staged and conservatives actually seem to be on the receiving end of the legitimate attacks right now.

So far, at least fundraising wise, it is working, as Sanders has already raised more than $18 million, the leader of the pack of Democrats who have announced their candidacy.

Much of what Sanders said in 2016 was what motivated groups like ANTIFA to show up at Trump rallies and confront Trump supporters.

Sanders’ comments are also a driving factor in the young liberals taking the stance that most conservatives and all of Trump’s supporters are racists and bigots.

The talk from Sanders and O’Rourke is surely going to ramp up attacks against anyone wearing a red MAGA hat or that openly support Trump in public.

Bernie Wants Americans to Pay

Sanders has also jumped on the reparations bandwagon in the hopes of taking minority votes away from one of the frontrunners in the party, Kamala Harris.

She was among the first candidates to breach this subject, but she and Sanders will surely not be the last.

When Sanders was asked if he would sign legislation regarding reparations into law if it passed the House, he stated, “of course I would sign it.”

With there being so much focus on reparations, again, it is only a matter of time before this ball lands in Donald Trump’s court.

It goes without saying the predicted answer by Trump is that he will not sign such legislation, which will only make the calls of racist much louder.

This is a strategically placed issue that Democrats know they will never win, but it is their way of continuing to press this bogus narrative and rally young liberals suffering from “white guilt” to their campaigns.
