Tomorrow, the first public impeachment hearing begins and Schiff has sent a stern warning to Republicans.
Schiff has told them all that these hearings must stay focused on the impeachment and they will not be used to politically benefit Trump by going after the Bidens.
Just Ludicrous
Now, I don’t know about you, but I have watched my fair share of hearings over my 52 years on this planet.
I cannot even count how many times politicians on both sides of the aisle have hijacked a hearing to talk about anything other than what the hearing was supposed to be about.
Go watch the Benghazi hearings to see how many times Democrats tried to derail a witness by either questioning him or her on something completely irrelevant or went on a five-minute dialogue rather than actually asking questions.
Now, all of a sudden, Schiff is going to drop the hammer and insist that Joe Biden is off-limits.
The funny thing, though, is that the Bidens are very much a part of this investigation, especially Hunter Biden.
And Joe Biden, well, he may have had his own quid pro quo to help out Hunter’s business, which is what Trump is trying to find out, so I would say the both of them should very much be in play.
Dropping the Hammer
Schiff is running these hearings, so don’t expect much leeway on this.
To make his point, he stated, “It is important to underscore that the House’s impeachment inquiry, and the Committee, will not serve as venues for any Member to further the same sham investigations into the Bidens or into debunked conspiracies about 2016 U.S. election interference that President Trump pressed Ukraine to undertake for his personal political benefit.”
Democrats will continue to pretend this is an unbiased hearing, but we all know that is anything but the truth.
Republicans issued a witness list on Friday for Schiff to approve and he has already called the list a “sham,” the same term that is being echoed throughout the party right now.
If Republicans are lucky, they may get two or three of the dozen or so witnesses they were hoping to get.
Ultimately, none of this matters, though, because Senator Graham has already stated this impeachment will be D.O.A. unless Democrats learn how to play fair.
