Secretary of Labor Resigns Amidst Jeffrey Epstein Scandal

The pressure from the media and Democrats has finally taken its desired effect.

Moments ago, Secretary of Labor Alex Acosta has announced he is resigning his position for the role he played in the Jeffrey Epstein plea bargaining deal.

The Plea Deal

This has already been beaten to death, so we won’t take too much time on this.

While serving as the U.S. Attorney in Miami, Alex Acosta worked a plea deal with sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

According to reports, Acosta did not believe they had a rock-solid case and decided to allow Epstein to take a plea.

His thought process at the time was that at the very least, Epstein would do some prison time and more importantly, would be forced to resign as a sex offender.

One of the problems for Epstein, however, is that the deal was not discussed with all the victims before it was presented, which may actually nullify that deal now.

The press has also been hammering Acosta because victims stated he was not very sympathetic to them at the time.

In his defense, Acosta stated, “Simply put, the Palm Beach state attorney’s office was ready to let Epstein walk free, no jail time.

“Prosecutors in my former office found this to be completely unacceptable.

“We believe that we proceeded appropriately, that’s based on evidence, not just my opinion… there was value to getting a guilty plea and having him register.”

The former Palm Beach prosecutor at the time, Barry Krischer defended his own office, stating, “I can emphatically state that Mr. Acosta’s recollection of this matter is completely wrong.

“Federal prosecutors do not take a back seat to state prosecutors.

“That’s not how the system works in the real world.”

“If Mr. Acosta was truly concerned with the State’s case and felt he had to rescue the matter, he would have moved forward with the 53-page indictment that his own office drafted.”

Moving Forward

In all honesty, this is probably the best thing that could have happened for Trump.

If Acosta did not resign, Democrats and the media would have kept on this narrative to hurt Trump.

While they are still pushing the fact that Trump and Epstein were acquaintances as though these two were best friends, that should end soon enough once Epstein starts talking.

The fact of the matter is that Epstein is deeply rooted inside the Democrat party.

He was a major donor to the Clinton Global Initiative and believed to have lined the campaign accounts of dozens of high-profile Democrats.

In fact, we did a story earlier today outlining $22,000 in donations Epstein made to Senator Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.).

The real damage for the Democrat party, though, is probably going to be Bill Clinton.

We know Epstein wrote some significant checks for the Clintons and we also know Bill had dinner with Epstein and traveled with him numerous times.

To this point, Clinton has denied any knowledge of Epstein’s sexual habits, but nobody really believes it.

It is only a matter of time before Epstein starts singing and when he does, it will surely take down multiple Democrats.
